Our Beliefs

UNAPOLOGeTICALLY CHRISTIAN.

driven by discipleship .

Everything that we do has Christ at the center and follows the calling to go into all the world and witness. We create disciples for Christ who are academically excellent, strong in character and have a biblical world view. Below you will see eight different essential areas of our school. With each of those you will see a defining belief as well. This is our educational philosophy.

01 Integration of Faith & Spiritual Formation

We believe Jesus is invited into every lesson, locker-room, and lunch table. Because spiritual formation is our ultimate purpose, Scripture, worship, prayer, and the Fruit of the Spirit weave through every class period, rehearsal, practice, and hallway chat—inside and outside the classroom—so that discipleship is our daily rhythm and Sulphur, Calcasieu Parish, and Louisiana are better because we exist.

02 Curriculum

We believe a hands-on, rigorous, and engaging curriculum should point students to both truth and the Truth-Giver. Textbooks, scope & sequence, and electives are chosen to sharpen the mind and shape the heart, integrating biblical worldview, worship through music and the arts, and real-world service projects that meet community needs.

03 Assessment & Grading

We believe grades must measure growth in wisdom, knowledge, skill, and Christ-like character. Formative and summative assessments evaluate mastery and nurture integrity, offering redemptive retakes where warranted, honest feedback, and grace that restores without becoming “cheap.”

04 Student Development

We believe every Lion is an image-bearer of God. We cultivate habits and social-emotional skills anchored in the Fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—so students serve others, steward campus cleanliness, and shine Jesus wherever they go.

05 Teachers

We believe teachers are disciple-makers first and content experts second. We invest in their spiritual growth, professional learning, and well-being so they can model excellence, partner with parents, hear and obey the Holy Spirit—even when He disrupts the lesson plan—and lead with firm, loving authority (no yelling required).

06 Methodology

We believe vibrant pedagogy matters: hands-on lessons, out-of-the-book thinking, problem-based learning, music, movement, labs, and worship all belong. Engaging strategies turn every moment—even athletics—into teachable moments where hearts and minds meet God’s truth in real time.

07 Classroom Culture

We believe classrooms should feel like Kingdom communities: orderly, joyful, and mission-focused. Clear expectations, consistent routines, and high engagement create safe spaces where the Holy Spirit is welcome to move, students actively participate, and free time is reimagined as purposeful exploration.

08 Student Learning

We believe learning is purposeful from bell-to-bell. Time, placement, promotion, and academic support are stewarded so every child can stretch intellectually and spiritually, discovering his or her God-given calling while meeting high academic standards.
